Spring Cleaning
Finally, Spring is here!!! Hopefully it doesn't storm anymore, but I think we may just have a few more. Well around this time, many people do a complete "de-junking" of their house. Otherwise known as Spring Cleaning. It can be overwhelming to think about, but like most big projects you just need to take baby steps.
First thing you should do is grab a notebook and go around each room in your house. Take a few minutes to write down the problem areas in that room. What you write on your list should be things that really bug you that you would like to change. Like a stack of shoes by the front door, or a pile of papers on the kitchen counter. Carefully inspect each room in this process.
When you are done with your list, sit down and see what you can do to change it. Then write down what items you need to by to keep it organzed. Ex: Shoe rack. In many cases though, you need to GET RID of more things and not buy more.
Take small steps at a time. Help get the whole family involved. It may take some habit changing. It might take a while before you remember to put yor keys on the new key holder, but don't give up!
Parts of your home not to forget!!!
•Junk drawers
•Medicine cabinets
•Garages
•Closets
•Storage, including attic, basements, crawlspace
•Outdoors
Remember, take small steps, don't get frustrated, and keep the family involved!!!

Make Your Home Welcoming for Guests
Some people make you feel so welcomed when you come into their house, and you are just so glad they are welcoming you so nicely. Here are some things you can do to make your house not only presentable for guests, but so your house is one of the houses they remember has feeling welcomed in.
Presentation
1.) Enter as your guests would. Walk up to the walk way to the front door and see what you notice. Maybe there is a huge weed that you never saw before, or a stain on the door that you never saw because you always go in another door. Fix it up
2.) Continue walking in your house as your guests would. See what you notice first, and make sure the view is nice and clean.
3.) Make room for your guests' coats and hats. If you can, get your coats out of the way so they have a place to put theirs.
4.) Be sure you have enough chairs and places for everybody.
5.) Make sure they know where the bathroom is, that they can help themselves, (if infact, they can) and anything else that you would like to know at somebody's home.

Lunches
I have a few knew ideas of what you can send in your child's lunch if you make stuff for them at home!!!! Some quick easy things that they will love to have in their lunches.
Cut up apples or pears into a ziploc baggie. Then, sprinkle cinnamon on the fruit! A great tasting way to eat fruit!!
Sandwhiches are great! But if you want to change it, put your fillings in a pita or a wrap. Or send a bagle with cream cheese!
What creative things do you do for your kids lunches?

Opinions
Have you ever met anyone who is expecting a baby, but when people ask what they are going to name it they don't tell anyone. They do that because they get tired of people groaning at the name they say, or suggest a "better" one. This can be the same with your home. If you are just starting out in a new home, or even making over a room in your house don't do something just because someone said you should. It's great to get advice from people, espcially if you asked for it. But when it comes down to it, YOU are the one who is living there, not your friend. So say thanks and do what you want. Thats the advice for the day. :)

Pictures In the Home
Pictures can light up a room. Wether they are on the wall, on a table, or in an album, they are so great! It is fun for guests to look at when they come into your home. Putting pictures up makes your house feel more like a "home". Pictures of family vacations, or birthday pictures, or anything else is a wonderful way to add to the room. Sometimes it can be hard to decide what to put up on the blank wall. Pictures are always a safe way to go!

March Iron Chef Challenge
This month is going to be a bit differnt. Instead of making something with a certain ingredient...all you have to do is make something GREEN!! It can be anything!!! It just has to be green. You have all month!
February Iron Chef CHAMP
First off, I would like to apologize for not having posted for a few weeks. I have been extremely busy with something else, and it has taken up alot of my time. Nevertheless...Don't think I have forgotten about this month. This month we had two of the most FABULOUS entries ever. Delicious cookies made with white chocolate chips, and delicious pretzels covered in white chocolate, toffee, and cinnamon. I know I say it every month, but this really has been one of the HARDEST decicions to make. After putting together everything, I have decided a winner.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your Iron Chef Champion for the month of February is....
