Can't be over

Closing night was last night. It sounds so wierd to say that. I don't know why but it doesn't feel like this show should be over yet. It was actually surprisigly popular to the public, not just friends and family. Thats why they added a 7:30 showing on Saturday. And they announced that on Thursday! On Friday, they said 80 tickets had allready been bought for that show between Thursday and Friday. Joanne(director) says we actually could have gone a few more weekends. She doesn't say that with every show. Actually she has only said that one other time. She got a lot of compliments from people that said they had seen it on broadway and we were just as good or better. I haven't ever worked that hard for a show before. There has been no other show like it. Joseph is a musical the whole time too, but this show is way more active. The whole time. Oh we were so tired last night cause we did 3 shows! But you don't really feel the tiredness on stage because you are so excited. Also with this show, I wasn't as nervous as I have been with other shows, but I was REALLy excited before each show. I think we all knew it SO well because it is shorter than most shows. If you could have seen what we looked like backstage right when the music started, you would have seen a bunch of girls "silent screaming" and jumping up and down. It is such a fun show. Joanne said she actually is going to try to do a "reprise" in the summer or something and bring it back. Just for a weekend or something, because if they would have known it would be this popular they would have extended it more! (*sigh) I am really sad though. I cried last night. I can't get my head around it that it's over! I can't believe it still. We've just worked on it way too hard and too long for it to be over! haha thats how it feels. Honestly this rehearsal process was horrible. If you think about it, it is the a very overwhelming show to do. Some songs are really long, and all we had was 12 girls and Joanne. Oh yeah, Joanne was the choreogropher for everything! I was really impressed. I thought we were going to get a dance choreographer, but Joanne knows her stuff. The rehearsals were horrible. ooooo I hate thinking about it! Nobody was excited to go, everyone walked in dead looking cause they knew what we had to do. We would either sit by the cd player with the songs, assigning parts, then starting over. When we learned our choreography to a song, that song would become my least favorite song if that makes sense. Like just because we would learn a little part of the dance to a song, and then continute to do it a hundred billion times. I mean, I know thats what you have to do, it just sucked. Even Joanne at one point didn't even want to do Cats. I just hate the ending of shows. It's funny how you work for 3 months on something, and then you get 3 weekends to preform it. And the rehearsals are typically some fun some boring, but thats how it has to be. And then the shows are just SO FUN! And that's why you go audition for another play, because you forget how much you hate the rehearsals and just want to do another show. Well this is getting long and I am just blabbering so I am done! Oh thank you SO much if you came and saw it! I really appreciate it!
